challengecombo

The challenge on Rainbowlady is to make a green and black card ( one of my favourite colourcombinations)
On Stampsomething it is no stamping allowed and on
Daringcardmakers it is recycle something .

The recycled bit is the flower which I cut out of a bookpage with a Bosskut die.The background is done with black magic Colorcore ,embossed with the cuttlebug folder and sanded. Little ash branches courtesy of my McGill punch
xxxxxxxx

Household Inspiration

it's Kathy's turn to set the challenge at DCM and boy did she set one ( no not pink) but

"The idea is that you look around your home and find a pattern, design, motif etc - or just part of one that you
can replicate and use as the inspiration for your card design"
it's noticeble that this time only 3 members of the DT have made one.but... once you start looking there are several patterns to be found.
I used this picture made of real leaves for mine

Daringcardmakers- in the p*nk

over at DCM the challenge is set by Jane and she is dreaming of a white christmas with a bit of p*nk added to it. I'll blame the heat in New Zealand for this challenge which is a double one for me as p*ink and me don't go together very well. I had to search for ages to find a bit of scrap paper in that colour , the English Paper Company helped me out
Trees are from the cuttlebug embossing set , love them and the words are from a Sizzlits set. ( sorry for the wonky scan, I know the card is straight))

Sparkle and bling

the challenge at DCM for this week is set by Jozza and the theme is Sparkle and Bling

I'm not a bling person but I have tried . The words are embossed with iridescent embossingpowder , hard to see on the scan and some added jewels for the bling.

=========

Paint the Town

I have not played at DCM for ages , the challenge this week

is by Rhi this time and is....paint the town any colour you like as long as you use paint.

I have used acrylic paint , over which I painted glaze and then combed it with a marbling comb . On top of that is a piece of acrylic sheet which went through my Big Shot in the swirl Cuttlebug folder . The ribbon is stamped with acrylic paint as well. I just received this house stamp from Paperartsy, isn't it cute ?
oops, I made a mistake there I did not buy this one, I got some of its stamped images it from a friend of a Dutch forum . ( whishful thinking?) I did buy some other houses though.

christmas in June

the DCM challenge is from Jo Jo here this week with a seasonal dare - just not this season :) I would love this week for you all to make a Christmas card... (yes I know it is only June tee hee) With a nice Christmassy scene just to get us all in the festive spirit and to pave the way for all the cards that we have yet to make....

I had christmas on the brain anyway as we are doing christmas in June ( and July ) on the Digital Craft Cottage forum as well.I'll post some of my tags and recipe on a different posting.
==============

Just a quick one

The new challenge on DCM is

I want you to make a QUICK CARD! a card that takes you no more than hmm say 30 minutes max to do - start to finish.

And there you go thinking thats easy. I just made it within the 30 minutes as I had something else in mind. Sorry guys still a winter one as this embossingfolder arrived today and had to be tried out
The colors look weird because of the scan .
=========

Bring it on

The little extra at DCM is a wedding anniversary year and its for 10 years.Now there is a choice for this one.... Tin/Aluminum or Diamond Jewellery. Hmmm which would you choose?Hope you will find the theme inspiring!

I thought I could cheat and show one of my older cards with diamonte on but I have shown that one already so it was to the drawingboard. I think we've had our summer up here.. 8 weeks of glorious weather but it's gone awol so I'm now more in a colder mood . The snowflakes are little diamonds fixed with my Hotfix. Yeah a tool that gets used instead of collecting dust in the drawer.
======

Time to Quote

the Friday Dare at DCM is from Jane this week she has dared us all to include a quote on our card. Stamped, Computer Generated or Rub Ons it doesn't matter and choose your own style or occassion.

I have used a stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms called Little People Collage and a quote stamp from their Time to Stamp set.
========

Up early

A record for me!! I was up at 6 o'clock as there was a lamb bleating like it was in dire straits and the mum was answering , the little %$&* had got through a fence and didn't know how to get back and had demolished most of the new shoots on the willow plants. He/she's not my favourite today.

For the midweek extra at DCM there is a template we can use

I've taken out the Hotfix to use on this ( duhhh it helps if you switch the thing itself on as well. , I was wondering why it wasn't melting the glue as it was on at the wall.
I have caught up with my orders, one more layout for Digital Craft Cottage about Why I Scrap
and then I can start on making elements/paper for theMmay kit. We all contribute 5 elements/papers for a kit, based on colours we have chosen beforehand. Great fun to do

distressed

Long time no blog. We had a great week in Holland to celebrate my parents 6o th !!wedding anniversary, lots of people I had not seen for ages and the whole family together again that doesn't happen very often.

Sadly the New Zealanders and Australians didn't manage to come across for it so we'll have to go there instead.

So time for some crafting the challenge on DCM is make a distressed card
This is my take on it. The stamp is by www.art-journey.nl

Shrink to Fit

Friday already !
It's Kathy's turn on DCM and she has come up with this one Shrink to Fit I first thought oh, oh we have to get the shrink plastic out but no

"I used to be able to make cards with lots of "white space" around the designs, but lately when I've tried to do this my cards just look sooooo naked!
So this week I'd like you to think small - not small cards, but small spaces of embellishment on regular sized cards.
You are allowed to cover no more than a 5x5cms area of your card with paper or embellishment - the rest of the card must be left plain"

I think she's been cheating herself that doesn't make up a 5x5 don't you think???
anyway this is my take on it very simple but golly does that look empty. Stamp by Crafty Individuals

Sweet 16

the dare for today at DCM is by Rachel ( it's her first dare)

"Well I thought we have had plenty of flowers and hearts and girly things so I would like some cards with some teen spirit please."

now I hope I did not take that too literally. I dug up my old trusted jeans background and gave them some spirit but rest assured it's orange juice ( as far as I know)

The pocket is cut out so you see the girls through a window.

girls talking stamp by American Art and just for the record...the jeans are not a stamp but I scanned a pair of jeans in and then printed the card

Cup of tea

Todays challenge at DCM

The dare involves creating a card incorporating a tea bag or coffee satchel - just perfect for days when somebody may need a quiet rest and break. I'm really looking forward to seeing what you all create for the dare.
I made lots of those with that gorgeous hot chocolate stamp ( and snowman) for christmas but won't cheat . I've made a new one for this.

I am a woman

Is it really that long ago?? Shame on me. It just shows how busy I've been with a big order for cards for a tearoom and getting hooked on Digital scrapping

The dare for the DCM this week is from Lythan

I am woman
As its coming up to Mothers day in the UK here’s a chance to make a card that celebrates women and girls . So I’d like to see a card with at least one feminine image on it . And that's it for rules really.Apart from this one.And it is sneaky. No Tildas, Sugar Nellies or Bellas please. I love them all. But there are loads of great challenges out there using them so for this challenge you can give them a well earned rest!

I made the background by ironing!! waxed paper onto cardstock and then coloured it with Distress Ink. The face stamp has been in my possesion for years and years I don't know it's make.

The diamond stamp is from Crafty Individuals and the lacy ribbon from Scrapfever. The fern is from a botanical clear stamp set.
==================

Paper Pesto challenge- DCM

This weeks dare from the DCM is an extra special one! Paper Pesto are entirely sponsoring this weeks dare AND providing a spot prize for one of our lucky darer's too! Paper Pesto distribute specialist paper and craft scrapbooking kits assembled in New Zealand.
We've chosen to work with a template for this dare, and the design team have used papers supplied by Paper Pesto in their January kit. The lucky winner of our Lucky Dip will receive a sample selection of the wonderful January kit as their prize.

I turned the template round a bit. The background is stamped with Gesso, then coloured with glimmermist. There are small raised swirls on it but these are hard to see on the scan .The " ribbon" and the mat behind the stamp are done by heating a block of Penscore then pressing a Cuttlebug embossing folder in it and then stamped with Distress ink.The stamps are from Art Journey

---------------------

Red and White

The challenge from the DCM is as follows

This week's and next week's dare are team dares - and we've decided to go nice and easy on you guys, as the past few dares have been pretty tricky ! This week, we decided on a colour combination for a change. We want you to design a card using only RED AND WHITE on your cards- it doesn't have to be a Valentine themed card - it can be any theme- as long as use incorporate RED and WHITE on it.

This is my take on it. I stamped the background with the 'Paint Spots Backgrounder' stamp from CHF and dug up my old trusted basque stamp from Stampendous and mounted it on a Spellbinders nestability circle.
The clear dots have been in my stockpile for years and apparently are back in fashion under a different name. The corners are from an Ellison die , I think it's called photo corners.
------------------

Foiled

the dare on the DCM comes from Jo this time

My dare this week is 'Foiled!' -I would like you to utilise some plain old aluminium (aluminum for our friends across the pond!) foil from your kitchen :). You can scrunch it, die cut it, emboss it, ink it, coil it, cover chipboard - or anything else that you choose!

I used a slidemount, covered that in foil then coloured it with alcohol ink and even parted with a bit of my favourite lacy ribbon.
the French wording stamp is from CHF and the boy is part of the Smile sheet from Art Journey.
As one of the challenges on CBC was rip it up I have killed 2 birds with one stone
