The challenge on saturdaysworkout is to make your own background by using spray, be it glimmermist, paint, colourwash, stamp ink as long as you spray it.

I took the opportunity to try out my new Tim Holz masks in combination with Glimmer Mist .

I must get it in my head that you do not use the heatgun with the masks still on ! it does not do them any good.

De uitdaging bij SAWO is om een achtergrond te maken d.m.v. spray hetzij met Glimmer Mist, inkt, colourwash verf . Ik heb gelijk mijn nieuwe Tim Holz masks geprobeerd (ik moet niet vergeten datje de heatgun niet moet gebruiken met de masks er nog op , dat doet ze echt geen goed.

Skinnies

On Thankgoditsfriday is a challenge by Myriame to make skinnies.

I'd never heard of those but it's a 3x5 creation. Quite a fun size to work with.

I have used Gesso covered in Glimmermist on a shiny black card. A bit of book paper, a background made with floorpolish and acrylic paint. A stamped image by Crafty Individuals and some embellishments.

I think I need some more of those skinnies.

Myriame heeft bij Thankgoditsfriday de challenge gezet om skinnies te maken. Ik had hier nog nooit van gehoord maar het is een formaat van 3x5 inches.

Ik heb gesso en Glimmermist gebruikt op ene glanzende zwarte achtergrond. wat boekpapier, de bruine achtergrond is gemaakt met vloerpolish en servetten en acryl verf. De image is een stempel van Crafty individuals.

Een leuk formaat om te doen, daar ga ik er nog wel meer van maken.

Sue has set challenge nr. 3 at CBC which is to make a card using at least 4 different papers, some ribbon a button and a flower . I used my new water treading punch ( is that what it is called?.The flower is cut from an old jumble sale book and sprayed with coffee and gold Glimmermist

Snowflake Kisses

the theme on Wednesday Stamper is Snowflake Kisses.On Cute Card Thursday it's snowflakes so two in one go. The blue background is made with Gesso and Glimmermists on a shiny black card , shame you cannot see all the glimmer.

The purple blue background behind the Let it Snowstamp ( by ???) is done by crumpling up colourful magazine paper, then covered with a thin layer of Gesso and Glimmermist , then Versamark and clear embossing powder and once that is dry it is stamped and cut with a Nestability.

The lined background is from the ledger background stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms

The sides of the clear card have again Gesso on them ( can you tell I love the stuff?)and there are several snowflakes stamped at random.

The challenge op Wednesday Stamper is Sneeuwvlok kusjes en op Cute Card Thursday is het sneeuwvlokjes dus twee in 1 dit keer .Ik heb een achtergrond gemaakt van Gesso en Glimmermists op een glimmende zwarte kaart , jammer dat je niet alle glimmer kunt zien.

de paars/ blauwe achtergrond is gedaan met verlreukeld papier uit een tijdschrift daar een dun laagje Gesso op en Glimmermist dan Versamark en clear embossingpoeder en toen dat droog was bestempeld. Uitgestans met een Nestability.

De achtergrond met lijntjes is van de Ledger Background van CornishHeritageFarms

De randen zijn met Gesso ingesmeerd ( raad je al dat ik gek op dat spul ben?) en er zijn verschillende sneeuwvlokken op gestempeld.

altered cd

Over at the Papergirls blog the challenge was to alter a cd using any medium but you had to use words from a magazine or newspaper.

Needless to say I forgot the words and had to go back to the drawingboard.

I have used Gesso- Glimmermist-Grungeboard (for the flower), the flourish is from cork, jute, lace and a bottlecap with a stamped image from Paperartsy, filled with UTEE ( I had to redo that one as the Aleene 3d went cloudy)

Op Papergirls blogspot was een uitdaging om een cd te alteren met gebruik van elk medium waar je zin in had maar er moest wel test op staan van een tijdschrift of krant, natuurlijk vergat ik de tekst en moest dit op het laatste moment toevoegen. Ik heb gesso, Glimmermist, Grungeboard, kurk, jute kant en een flessendop gebruikt met een image van Paperartsy en daaroverheen 3 lagen UTEE. In eerste instantie had ik Aleene 3d spul gebruikt maar dat werd cloudy ( Ned. woord?)

Christmas scrapbook

Over at Craftsbycarolyn we are doing a major challenge weekend. The challenges are set by H. ( 18 in all)

one of them is make a christmas scrapbook from

scratch ready for your christmas photo's.

I made mine from a cardboard box and the pages are from C6 envelopes folded double.

I used glimmermist- gesso- paintdabbers-diecuts- stamps

thickers-ribbon-lace etc.

Op het Craftsbycarolyn forum hebben we een groot

challenge weekend. De challenges werden door Helen

gezet totaal 18 stuks. we hebben de tijd tot vrijdag om

kartonnen doos gebruikt en de blz.zijn dubbelgevouwen

my home is my castle

For a long time it's been on my "to do" list to make a word book

and I finally got round to it.I've started with some easy letters to cut out before embarking on the difficult ones( cutting out is not my forte )

This is the bay at the back of our croft where I do my cano-ing .It dries out completely at low tide and you can walk all round the islands .

I have used Gesso, Glimmer Mist and Distress Ink to color the pages, plasterers tape came in handy too and an old interior decorating book that slowly gets demolished to pull out bits and pieces. The Stitchels from Artistic Stamper wormed their way into this book as well, ha ha. Am I addicted to them or not?

Ik heb Gesso, Glimmer Mist en Distress inkt gebruikt voor de bladzijden, stucadoor tape of hoe het mag heten dat net spul. kwam ook goed van pas en en oud boek met staaltjes voor binnenhuis inrichting wat langzaam maar zeker gesloopt wordt voor de kleine frutseldingen , randjes en kantjes en koord.

De Stitchels hebben zich ook weer in dit boekje genesteld ben ik er aan verslaafd of niet ?

earthquake and Arch

We were woken up rudely this morning at 4.25 by a loud rumbling moise and then the house shook... it was an eartquake in Glenfinnan that caused this. 3.2 on the Richter scale

Luckily no damage was done .

I got my Craft Stamper magazine yesterday and it is so inspiring , so many great projects .

I made this Arch today I don't know how it came about as I went to my craftvan to start working on a word mini album but I got diverted .

The butterfly and flowers are Stitchels stamps that are part of a prize I won from the Artistic Stamper.

The background was done with pearl acrylic paint and several colours glimmer Mist , you cannot see the shine on the photo.

we werden vanochtend vroeg wat ruw wakker geschud ( letterlijk) door een aardbeving hier in de buurt gelukkig was er geen schade .

Gisteren heb ik het Craft Stamper magazine gekocht en hij staat vol met leuke projekten .

Vanmiddag heb ik deze Arch gemaakt, hoe dat kwam weet ik ook niet , ik ging naar mijn craftvan om aan een woord boekje te werken maar ben duidelijk afgeleid , ha ha.

De achtergrond is gedaam met pearl acryl verf en een paar kleurtjes Glimmermist je kunt hier het glinsteren niet zien. het vlindertje en bloemetje is een deel van de prijs die ik heb gewonnen bij Artisticstamper

Hurray I have finished the album for a commission

and mostly in pink so thats quite an achievement for me.

It's a birthday present /card for a 60 year old .

Hence the title from 0-60

I think I'll only put the front and another anonymous page on here as I don't think she'd like her photos plastered on blogland. I'd have to ask

permission first. As you can see I have used my new Stitchel stampset from Artistic Stamper and Ollie and Friends from Sassafrass Lass. The other picture shows some Core Card that has been put through a Cuttlebug embossing folder and then sanded. The flower stamp below is a freebie from the Craft Stamper magazine , it has been sprayed with Glimmermist and some perfect pearls added.

hoera mijn album voor een commissie is af en grotendeels in roze dus dat is een hele prestatie voor mij.

Het is bestemd voor een 60 jarige vandaar de titel van 0-60. Ik zal de blz. met foto's niet laten zien want ik denk niet dat ze die over blogland verspreidt wil zien. ( zal ik eerst toestemming voor moeten vragen)

for a challenge on Craftsbycarolyn . The brief was to use stamps and no pretty paper was allowed.

I've been combining several techniques. The stamped background is from a 6x6 scrapblock by CHF the vintage ledger. The swirly background is colorcore that was put through my Big Shot in an embossingfolder and then sanded.

The background behind the lady is several layers of gesso, then several colors of Glimmer mist , the edges are distressed and embossed. The lady is a stamp from

Paperartsy and the diecuts are from Wizard.

Voor een challenge bij Craftsbycarolyn waarbij je geen bedrukt papier mocht gebruiken en moest stempelen.

De achtergrond is de vintage ledger van Cornishheritagefarms; daarop een laagje colorcore wat door een embossingfolder is gegaan en toen geschuurd.

daarop cardstockmet 2 laagjes gesso en diverse kleurtjes Glimmermist, de randjes zijn gedistressed en embossed.

Een Camembert doosje kan ook voor iets anders dienen. De onderste helft is bekleed met K&C papier en bestempeld met een stempel van Art-Journey.

je weet dat je scrapverslaafd bent als je maandverband koopt omdat je het blikje wat er bij zit zo leuk vindt.

Ik heb eerst een laag gesso er over gedaan daarna gesprayed met 2 kleuren Glimmer Mist. het muziekpapier is verschrompelt, beveegd met Distress inkt, gemist met water en toen gedroogd. De bloem en munt komen uit een Cutie Kit van Scrapfever

het horloge, de klok en het woordje Time is uit een set Time to Stamp van Cornish Heritage Farms

Tanda Teaser vroeg dit keer om een kaart met initialen. En zowaar ik heb geen stempels gebruikt. Hi is gedaan met een alfabet mask, Glimmer Mist. Verder heb ik een ovale nestability gebruikt,brads, een charm , een knoop met raffia en wat verschillend papier en een stukje verpakking karton .

Life is good

I finally took the plunge and did something with my mini puzzle album that I got in the April kit from Scrapfever. This is where I buy my Dutch craft goodies.

It's my first kit it's a surprise what you get as it's kept very secret.

I first put Gesso on, just on one side and whilst it was wet I sprayed 3 colours of Glimmer Mist on, then dried it with the help of my heatgun as I don't have patience as my middle name.

As the pages are from perspex the colours are visable on the other side and are very shiny.

I love the effect and then the decorating could start.These are my favourite colours

Eindelijk de stap maar gewaagd en heb het mini puzzel album

uit de April Craft kit van Scrapfever gemaakt.

dit is mijn eerste kit en het is altijd een verrassing want de inhoud wordt streng geheim gehouden.

Ik heb het eerst aan 1 kant bewerkt met Gesso en terwijl dit nog nat was 3 kleuren Glimmer Mist er op gesprayed. Daarna gedroogd met behulp van de heatgun, geduld is niet mijn sterke kant.

Omdat de bladzijden van perspex zijn zie je de kleuren ook aan de achtterkant, heel mooi glanzend.

Daarna kon het versieren beginnen.Dit zijn mijn favoriete kleurtjes.

My first canvas

This did not go without mishappenings...I was too impatient to wait for the Gesso to dry and stuck the paper on top of it; then the photograph the result was that the paper bubbled, the photo got smeared with blue gesso and when I tried to rub it off the photo got damaged.

Back to the drawingboard and bless digital photo's and home printing.

I put on several layers of Gesso the last one mixed with blue acrylic paint, then sprayed some Glimmermist on it. The circles were cut with a Nestability, the holes done with the Cropodile, the swirl is part of Sizzix Bigz flower and vine.

The silver rhinestones were put on with my new toy the Hotfix.

Trust me to have tidied up and I cannot find the little box with different sized nibs.

oh and the kiddo is my great nephew.

mijn eerste canvas wat ook niet zonder problemen ging. Ik was te ongeduldig om te wachten tot de Gesso goed droog was , waardoor het papier ging bubbelen en de foto erboven besmeerd werd met blauwe Gesso, toen ik probeerde dat eraf te halen was de foto bedorven en het papier ook.

Op nieuw begonnen met wat meer geduld, dank zij digitale foto's en een fotoprinter. Dat loont.!

Er zitten verschillende laagjes Gesso op, de laatste heb ik gemengd met blauwe acrylverf. Daarna wat blauwe Glimmermist erover gedaan.

Decirkels zijn met de nestability gestanst,en de gaatjes zijn er met de Cropodile ingemaakt.De swirl is een onderdeel van de Sizzix Bigz Flower and Vine. de zilveren steentjes zijn er met de hotfix op bevestigd. Helaas heb ik mijn craftvan opgeruimd en nu kan ik het doosje met de verschillende maten opzetstukjes niet meer vinden.

as I was running behind 2 cards for this week. It's so difficult to define what I am on one small card. What it did teach me though was....DO NOT use your heat gun to dry the ink after you have put the labels on as this will melt the text of your labels, don't even try heating it from the back as that will also melt the text away so you have to start yet again. You learn don't you??

In Holland we say 3 times is shipsright what is the English expression?? 3 times lucky ??

Moeilijk om te beschrijven wat je bent op 1 klein kaartje. Wat ik wel geleerd heb is...gebruik je heatgun niet nadat je de labels hebt opgeplakt want dit verwijdert de tekst er van, ook als je de achterkant verhit. 3 maal is scheepsrecht.

De linkse achtergrond is gedaan met alcohol inkt en Distress inkt de letters zijn van Sizzix Nouveau. De rechtse achtergrond is Gesso met Distressinkt en Glimmermist

the fields are white and the sun is out in full force who says it always rains in Scotland?

I've been playing with some grungeboard. I cut it in my Big Shot, sprayed it with glimmermist and then stamped on it using Black India Ink, which is a permanent , waterproof one.
Judging by the amount of ink in the glimmer mist bottles it shows what my favourite colours are green and blue are half empty , the other 4 nearly full.

I've been busy

A powercut does wonders for crafting as long as it's light. Somehow my stamps seem to be multiplying so I made another album for them with clear envelopes to put them in,it's full already.

Another order from Art Journey arrived yesterday . It's my favourite shop at the moment .Here I have used Glimmer Mist and a brass Celtic stencil.I love the way it has turned out. When you flip the still wet stencil over you can make another printed image with it which will be the opposite from this one.
